The club championship was held on Sunday 21 September. The weather was almost perfect for archery, overcast, still, dry and comfortably warm. Everyone shot a National round with the exception of the sole junior present, who shot a Burntwood Junior National.

The results were:

Gent's recurve: 1 – Pete Moore; 2 – Jim Denham; 3 – Ian Lassman; 4 – Steve Moseley.

Gent's compound: 1 – John McCullagh; 2 – Harvey Abrams.

Ladies' barebow: 1 – Sheena McCullagh.

Junior Gents' recurve: 1 – Benjamin McCullagh.

Best gold: Ian Lassman.

Six gold end: John McCullagh.

The Improver's Medal went to Harvey Abrams who reduced his handicap from 55 to 40.

In recognition of his tireless work for Bristol Bowmen, Steve Moseley was presented with the Vic Williams Shield.

The trophies were awarded by the Lady Paramount Mavis Brown.

The day was rounded off with the traditional B-B-Q. Many thanks to Jim Denham, the chief cook and bottle washer. Thanks also to those members unable to shoot due to injury etc, who turned out with their families and helped to make this a thoroughly enjoyable day.

In April Steve Moseley became the British Blind Sports (BBS) national indoor champion, setting a new national record in the process. In June he became the BBS national outdoor champion, again setting a new national record. On 14 July 2003 he set yet another national record while competing in the Sussex County Championships. Remarkably, he was competing on level terms with sighted archers.

In August Pete Moore competed in the combined Police and Fire Service World Championships in Barcelona, coming sixth.
